About DJ RX (in short)
Rex Hubanks (Dj RX/aka Dj Wrex) was born in the great state of California in 1979. His parents moved to beautiful Arizona shortly after. Growing up in Flagstaff and Cottonwood he didn’t start playing on the decks till '97. A friend introduced him to an unusual sound he called "Techno". It was a Dr. Psychosis tape that featured several different genres of this, so called, "Techno" music, what an incredible compilation. At that moment Rex was hooked for life. He bought a pair of Technics 1200’s and a cheap Gemini mixer and gave it his best shot, only to fall short. Thanks to some good friends, Steve Konkel and Matt Spangler (DJ Matty at London West Records), to show him the ropes, he was spinning and making CD’s in no time. Staying a bedroom DJ for a few years, Rex never spun records out in public much until he ran into Cameron McWilliams, a local DJ with much credibility in Arizona. Cameron helped him realize how much fun it is to rock the party live! Now it seems Rex can't get enough, he’s been playing and being a part of the party almost every weekend. Now with the inclusion of the T-Rx soundsystem, an ever growing PA entity, it’s only going to get better. Rex says, “It's like an addiction to me, I love to want it! I need more though... more people dancing... more people to feel the music... more people to broaden their palette for the vast variety of different types of music out there in the world today!” Rex has been playing in the Cottonwood area and several gigs across Arizona nearly every weekend. With great friends and new faces to create a positive atmosphere, everyone can enjoy DJ RX.
